Throw in the onion, Garlic and a little salt and pepper. Add just enough milk to moisten everything. Then add the Hamburger and mix well.

Spray the pot with cooking spray. Place mixture in the crockpot and flatten it to fit. Put catsup on top and cook on low for 8 to 12 hours.

This is a five star family favorite and an easy way to have some comfort food at the end of a long day.

A little tip for easy removal of the meatloaf from the crock pot. Take two pieces of Tinfoil and fold up until you have two strips about 1/2 an inch thick. use them to form an X at the bottom of the crock pot with the edges hanging over the edge of the pot. Then put the meatloaf in. When it is finished cooking just lift the edges of the tinfoil and the meatloaf will come right out.

Pot Roast into Tacos

Ok time to use those Leftovers...... A week ago I got a great deal on some Apples and I kind of over did it with how much I bought LOL. Well they have started to get a little old. Not rotten but to that point where they are still good apples but the kids look at them and go I’m not eating that. Well not one to waste good food I remembered a recipe from one of my cookbooks (I don’t remember which one and when I find it I will post it here and give them credit for the recipe). The Recipe is a very simple recipe to remember and very tasty and since it is still a good time to get apples cheap I wanted to share it with you.

This is the first Five Start recipe I’ve posted everyone likes it from my very picky son to my fruit hating husband. Want to finish up the rest of those leftovers. Well here is a Tasty Crockpot Soup recipe for that Turkey. I hope you haven't thrown out the bones yet.

First step is to remove any meat from the bones. If you don't get it all that's ok. Next put the carcass into your crockpot and cover it with water. If you have a metal strainer put the carcass in it to make it easy to remove from your broth. Cook on high for 3 to 4 hours. Then remove carcass from the broth (any left over meat should just fall off the bones). If you want to make your soup lower in fat then store broth in the fridge overnight and skim the fat off in the morning.

Finishing your soup add to your broth:

3 stalks celery diced
1/2-1 cup diced
1 med onion diced
1 pinch sage
1 pinch thyme
1 pinch rosemary
1 pinch garlic
1 pinch celery seed
1 teaspoon parsley

How every much Turkey meat you want to get rid of :D

Let simmer in crock pot. High for 3-4 hours or low 6-7 hours. Last add cooked egg noodles, cooked rice, or cooked barley. Let cooked on low until ready to serve.

This recipe gets 4 and 1/2 stars. My son will eat it but will say he doesn't like it LOL.

Cooking Turkey In the Crockpot

I love turkey! Once or twice a year just isn't enough! So when turkey breasts go on sale I grab a couple. Well Saturday I tossed one in the old crock pot and forgot about it till dinner time.

I just did a simple recipe with some garlic, salt and sesame seeds sprinkled liberally over the top. Cook the turkey breast in crockpot on low 8 hours or for three to four hours on high. DON'T at water to the pot. Trust me you will not only have a very juicy turkey breast but have enough drippings for plenty of gravy. The next one I'm going to try I got from my sister.

Cranberry Turkey Breast

1 turkey breast (6 to 8 lbs)

1 packet of onion soup mix (I'm going to use home made onion soup mix)

1 can of cranberry sauce

salt and pepper to taste

Sprinkle salt and pepper (to taste) and the packet of onion soup mix on the top and bottom of turkey breast.
Add cranberry sauce to top of turkey breast and cook in crockpot on low (8 hours) or for three to four hours on high.

Easy Santa Fe Chicken

Well it's been a while since I pulled out the old crockpot but yesterday I did and tried this tasty recipe on the family. As soon as I unpack my crockpot I will start posting more tasty recipies. I've decided to include a rating system for all the recipies I post. There are four of us in the house and it will be a 5 star rating system. The fifth star will go to foods my extreamly picky son want's seconds of. I don't think there will be many. Four stars will go to foods that every one likes and my son will eat without too much complaint. Three stars will be for food that three of us like. Two and one will be for foods that two or one of us like and I won't be posting stuff that none of us like. I might leave off foods that only get one start too it depends. See my Husband doesn't like fruit and If it has fruit and I think its pretty tasty I may still post it.

See ya soon Happy Eating.

Still Here

Well if you have been reading you may have noticed a lack of posts. Is to take a whole chicken out of the freezer and place it in a sink of luke warm water while I get showered and dressed. When I'm done the chicken will have thawed enough to get the wrapper off. Then run look warm water inside the chest cavity to get the gibblets out (if they are included with the chicken in question).

Next I spray my crockpot with cooking spray and add the chicken (you can spray the pot before handling the chicken :P ) Next add your favorite seasonings or a ready made sauce like Barbecue Sauce or Jerk sauce with 1/4 cup water mixed in and turn on high. Let it cook until 1/2 hour before dinner time then take the chicken out and place on a cutting board. You will have to do this carefully because it will just be falling off the bone. Remove as much of the chicken from the bone as you want to serve and place back in the sauce. Mix.

Serve over Rice or Noodles.

The leftovers (if there are any) make great sandwiches for the next days lunch.

This can also be done with chicken breasts if you don't want to mess with the bones. Just use a couple of forks to shredd the chicken.

Lets Get Started

Since this is my very first post on this blog lets start with the most important meal of the day...
